Project Overview

Ames After Dark is a mobile-first app that centralizes nightlife info for Ames students and residents. It brings together live events & specials, an interactive map of bars and mutual friends, and a weekly photo gallery from local photographers. The goal is to help people make quick, safe decisions about where to go tonight.

  • Cross-platform prototype (iOS + Android) with a cloud backend

Design System

Color Palette

Pink & Blue are primary accents; Yellow is a small highlight. Black/White for backgrounds and text.

Typography

Bebas Neue – Headings

Bold, modern, perfect for nightlife branding.

Poppins – Body

Clean and readable for paragraphs and labels.

Usage Notes

  • Headers use blue or pink with subtle hover glow.
  • Callouts and Buttons use pink.
  • Use yellow sparingly for icons or small highlights.
